George Washigton
A popular man who is remembered as the leader of the Continental Army. He is the only president to receive unanimous support by the electoral college. He wanted to have a properly functioning, strong central government that was respected at home and overseas. He did not want to be labeled as particular political party. During his presidency, he had a small and disputatious cabinet that included two strong personalities Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. He took part in writing the Federalist Papers. When he retired from presidency, he published his farewell address to help guide the next president.
